Passionately Waiting and Diligently Seeking
God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits, to the woman who diligently seeks. It’s a good thing to quietly hope, quietly hope for help from God. It’s a good thing when you’re young to stick it out through the hard times. When life is heavy and hard to take, go off by yourself. Enter the silence. Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions: Wait for hope to appear. Don’t run from trouble. Take it full-face. The “worst” is never the worst. Lamentations 3:25-30 MSG
This verse is speaking to me this morning. I know that beautiful and wonderful things are grown over time, with gentle love and patience.
That is not my preferred way of doing things, though I have improved over time.
It's easy to want things now. To want the end results without the work. But this route rarely produces the desired results.
Impatience is not good for us. It causes us to forget to listen, speak too much or make assumptions that don't serve us well. We rush, cut corners and don't tend to the important things along the way.
Lord, let me passionately wait and diligently seek more.
